What's Your Animal Posture?

26th July 2011

Are you sitting comfortably? According to research by Fellowes, 96% of employees think a pleasant, comfortable environment has a direct impact on productivity at work, yet few realise posture is as important as ergonomic products.

If you are likely to cross legs, recline or hunch over your keyboard, you could be exhibiting some classic animal workspace behaviour! We ask you, what is YOUR animal posture?!

Outstretched Ostrich:

  • Places her monitor too high or without a proper stand. She strains her neck and the rest of the body stiffens up

Lounge Lizard:

  • Doesn't always use a traditional workspace. Lying down, propped up or with no desk at all is typical and ergonomic products are seldom used

Scrunched-up Squirrel:

  • Hunches at her workspace, hovering over the keyboard with her face close to the screen. Her body tends to stay in one position for a long time.

Folding Frog:

  • Prefers to sit cross-legged and may lean too far back or to one side as a result. Frog’s arms are seldom parallel to the floor and his feet are never flat on it
